A little about me and experience with technology…
I’m a fourth year studying a Bachelor of Education (K-12) with experience in both primary and secondary classrooms. The experiences I’ve had illustrate that technology is already an essential component to the classroom. A subject about classroom technologies is invaluable for me as a pre-service teacher; an asset to both my evolving teaching practices and the learning environment of my future students.
I’m definitely far from an expert, however, I know my way around an interactive whiteboard and multiple educational online resources. The most interesting experience with technology was using a school’s learning management system. I found it incredibly useful when students were away because they wouldn’t miss the fundamental concepts taught during the lesson and also students knew what to expect when they came to class.

Glenrowan is famous for the siege between police and the infamous Kelly Gang in June 1880.
Not all schools were as tech-savvy due to limited resources. Most of my placements were in rural schools as I’m from a small Victorian town, Glenrowan. I think that a subject like this will enable me to extend my knowledge and find cost effective resources that I could introduce when teaching in rural classrooms.
Among many technologies available to classrooms, I would really love to investigate programming software. I don’t have any experience and can only imagine the potential.
